Clarke's Casualties Cwiz!

Following on from the revelation that Giles Clarke is an axe wielding psychopath, It has now come to light that Stephen Brenkley wasn't the first casualty.

Thanks to modern science, his previous victims have been saved by their only recognisable parts being attached under the supervision of a top rocket surgeon.

For your chance to win a date with this fine specimen of manliness, here's what to do.

Firstly work out all the 5 victims original identities and tell me which one is the odd one out and why. Additionally, their surname initials spell out a clue to the connection.

Convoluted but achievable. No bums and no cryptic gibberish what I saw on a BBC Four documentary neither.

This genuinely DID keep me awake in bed last night... please be gentle!

Well I know who is the odd man out because he is the only one whose identity I have grasped - I'm seriously USELESS at this and v cross.. and I want someone else to get the answer soon before I go barking mad...

Oooh! Oooh I have 2!!

Spigot said...

You *think* you have two... ;-) Thanks for dropping by, we'll be here all week...

Anonymous said...

Well if you'd chosen all HOT men I'd so be there..

Spigot said...

Well the raw materials mightn't have been up to much, but the end result..... Would. right?

Well I thought I had four but their initials don't seem to spell anything so at least one must be wrong. I've got Ramprakash and Strauss which I'm pretty sure on. Then a guess at Swann and possibly Jack Russell but that makes little sense. Anyway I tried...

Spigot said...

Well you definitely have at least some of those wrong... thanks for trying and stopping by and try again!

I thought I had it too but have obviously gone wrong big time as I have no vowels to make a connecting word. Bugger.

(I think this is great, by the way)

This is a total Punt-A-Roo

Graham Gooch
Alan Knott
Jack Russell
Warren Hegg
Alec Stewart

Im not convinced but they are all England Test Wicketkeepers except for Gooch but they all have the same letter next to each other...gg in Hegg etc.

Am i Close?

Anonymous said...

Except for Stewart obv.

Spigot said...

What does "ghrks" mean then??

You are a *bit* close. like China is a *bit* close to the England compared to the moon. :)

Anonymous said...

How many out of 5?

Spigot said...

Just one I'm afraid.

Anonymous said...

It's Jack Russell then.

Anonymous said...

Hmmmmmm...

Dora the Explorer???
Rahul Dravid
Jacob Oram
Jack Russell

Spigot said...

Miss Explorer isn't as daft a guess actually - in a way.

Forest. River. Grandpa's house!
Forest. River. Grandpa's house!
Forest. River. Grandpa's house!
Forest. River. Grandpa's house!

Don't want to know what's so good about grandpa personally...

Andrew Strauss
Nasser Hussain
Jack Russell

Im sensing a 'SS' thing here.....

Spigot said...

Your senses deceive you, young padawan. Plenty of progress in general though.

Anonymous said...

Oram Strauss Russell Mowgli...Butcher?????

Anonymous said...

Maybe grandpa knows the answer?

Ooh, definitely see Strauss now that it's been pointed out.

Anonymous said...

Now I can see:

Dravid
Strauss
Russell

Anonymous said...

I recognise the ear. The rest frightens me.

I'm sure I went on a blind date with a guy like that once...but he was more into pocket billiards than cricket.

Anonymous said...

Strauss, Oram, Russell and Dravid plus someone beginning with W?

SWORD?

Anonymous said...

Okay so it's deffo Jack Russell and Strauss right? But who are the eyes!? Am I right in thinking that one is a chidren's TV character?

Anonymous said...

Dravid and Oram. If we go with Mel's (Bumble! Hurrah!) SWORD theory, I'm guessing Inigo Wontoya.

Anonymous said...

Apparently I'm barking up the wrong tree with my SWORD/AXE theory. Sorry to have led you all astray!

I can just hear Spigot cackling evilly in a room at the top of Spigot Towers......

Anonymous said...

Part Time Wicket-Keepers????

Anonymous said...

I agree with Oram, Russell, Dravid and Strauss. Could the word be Lords? Not sure how that acctually links them but yeah.

Anonymous said...

They've all made hundreds at Lord's, excluding Dravid? He's also the only right-hand bat of the lot, so far.

Fiendish Spigot!

Anonymous said...

But who is the top left one? Have they made a hundred at Lord's?

Also can I just say the the faces are matched up extremely well so well done on that.

AwayWithTheFairies said...

I can confirm the presence of cackling, chez Spigot.

Spigot said...

CORRECT!! Well done sasha! Hope that entertained you as much as it did me...

Suppose there's a prize to be found now... Let's have a think

(Any feedback appreciated btw...)

Spigot said...

Oh and it was Dravid the only person not to get a ton at lords.

Last person still to be named though... should be much easier to work backwards now though.

Anonymous said...

It's not Lamby is it?

Anonymous said...

Oh Catherine you are clever! From those bloody stupid adverts!

Fab and devious comp though Spig - just like you!

Anonymous said...

Haha not really I just looked at the Honours Board list and he was the only player with a surname beginning with L. That's when it hit me.

Spigot said...

Fine by me...

Pipped at the post were you Ceci?

Anonymous said...

Whoohoo! Very much a group effort though.

Very entertaining Spigworth, I was particularly impressed with your zombie/Frankenstein stitch work.

Lamby...never would have got that in a million years.

Anonymous said...

Well done Catherine!

....and Well Done the Spig. Kept me away from cleaning the bathroom a treat, has this.

Spigot said...

Well once you realised it wasn't a real eye things would've clicked... For those interested... http://www.freddythefox.co.uk/wetherby.htm
